Bigger businesses are finally getting the hang of Social Marketing! An article from Brandweek, Marketers’ Use of Twitter Goes Beyond Just Tweeting gives you some idea on how real businesses are starting to “get” twitter.

Much like the information I shared in Blogging Secrets a number of years ago, the move from a personal web log to the main way to share content twitter and social media is extending the way we share information.

Important to the reader information!

One of the most essential functions Twitter serves is as a way for
brands to share content. Twitter evolved from its origins as a
means to broadcasting personal activity (“eating lunch”) to a
real-time source of consumer-to-consumer recommendations. The
service itself acknowledged as much last November when it changed
its prompt from “What are you doing?” to “What’s happening?”

Add to that “Why Would My Reader Care” and you have a the real reason Twitter and Blogging can be successful. The “Setup a Blog” service makes this transition easy, including a 100 things to post/tweet about as part of the download.
